How Much Does a Kitchen Remodel Cost in Cache Valley?
Kitchens carry the widest price spread of anything we build, and cabinetry is the reason. Cabinets alone are commonly 35 to 45 percent of a kitchen budget. Two kitchens the same size can be $20,000 apart before anybody has picked a countertop.
These are ranges, not quotes — a real number comes from walking your house and writing the scope.
Most projects land between $40,000 – $60,000
Typical timeline: 8 – 12 weeks · Scope assumed: Full remodel, cabinets to flooring
What Drives Cost Up
- Custom cabinetry instead of semi-custom — expect a $10,000 to $21,000 swing on an average kitchen.
- Moving the sink, range, or refrigerator, especially over a slab where lines have to be trenched.
- Removing a load-bearing wall, which brings an engineer, a beam, posts down to footings, and a permit.
- Natural stone or an exotic quartz with heavy veining and waterfall ends.
- Panel-ready and pro-style appliances, which change cabinet construction as well as the appliance line item.
What Drives Cost Down
- Keeping the existing layout so plumbing and gas stay where they are.
- Refacing or repainting solid boxes instead of replacing cabinets that are structurally fine.
- Choosing a stock door style in a standard finish rather than a special-order color.
- Counter-depth appliances from a mainstream line instead of pro-style.
- Keeping the existing flooring if it runs under the cabinets and is still in good shape.

What Each Level Actually Includes
Not marketing labels. These describe real scope differences.
Same footprint. New semi-custom cabinets in a stock finish, quartz counters, tile backsplash, new sink and faucet, updated lighting, paint. No plumbing or wall changes.
Where most of our kitchens land. Minor layout changes, an island added or resized, semi-custom cabinets with organizers, quartz, new flooring, new lighting plan and circuits, upgraded appliance package.
Full custom cabinetry, a wall removed and beamed, relocated plumbing, stone counters with waterfall detail, panel-ready appliances, integrated lighting, and a butler pantry or coffee bar.
Questions We Get About Price
Because “cabinets” is not one product. A particleboard box with a laminate interior and an aftermarket soft-close hinge is a different item than a plywood box with dovetail drawers and an integrated hinge, and both get called cabinets on an estimate. Ask any bidder for the box construction, the drawer construction, and the warranty, and the spread usually explains itself.
A basic island with cabinets and a countertop typically runs $2,900 to $5,800. Add a sink or a cooktop and you are into plumbing, electrical, and possibly venting — that pushes it to $6,700 to $12,500.
Yes, and plenty of clients do. We ask for specs early so cabinets are built around them, and we do not warranty owner-supplied items or the labor to re-install one that arrives wrong.
Generally around $20,000. Below that you are better served by a handyman or a cabinet refacing company, and we will say so rather than pad the scope to make it worth our while.
