Before You Call

What Actually Happens On Our First Call

No pitch, nothing signed, and a straight answer at the end of it.

Before You Call

You Will Leave One Of Two Ways

Either you move forward with confidence — knowing what your project is, roughly what it costs, and what the next step is — or you leave more educated than you came in, even if you never hire us. That is a fair trade for one phone call.

The Conversation

What We Ask You

There is no script and it is not a qualifying questionnaire. These are simply the things we need to understand before we can be any use to you.

Why this project, and why now

The most useful question we ask. A kitchen that has bothered you for eight years is a different project from one that needs to be finished before a baby arrives or before a parent moves in. The reason behind the work shapes the scope, the sequence and the schedule more than anything else does.

What is not working today

Specifics help more than adjectives. Not enough counter space. Nowhere to put coats. A bathroom two people cannot use at once. A basement nobody goes into. We are looking for the problems the remodel has to solve, so that afterwards we can both tell whether it solved them.

What you picture when it is finished

How you want the space to feel and how you want to live in it. You do not need to have chosen finishes or built a folder of pictures. If you have them, bring them — but the feeling matters more at this stage than the tile does.

Who else has a say

A spouse, a parent, a business partner, an adult child. It is far better to know on the first call than to discover later that a decision needs revisiting. Everyone with a say will need to be at the on-site consultation, so knowing early who that is helps us plan it.

Timing and budget, roughly

When you would like to be finished, and the range you have in mind. Neither needs to be exact. They exist so we can tell you quickly whether the project you are describing and the number you are picturing belong to each other.

In Return

What We Tell You

A call that is all questions is an interview. This one should be worth your time whether or not it goes anywhere.

A working ballpark

We will talk through what comparable projects have actually cost and give you a range. It comes from projects that sound like yours rather than from your house, so it can move once we have seen the space — but it is enough to tell us both whether we are aligned.

How the project would actually run

The rough sequence, what has to happen before anything else can, whether engineering or permits are likely to be involved, and what tends to drive the schedule on a project like yours.

Whether we are a good fit

Sometimes the honest answer is no. The project may sit outside what we do, the timing may not work, or another company may simply be better suited to it. We would rather say so on the call than let it drift for three weeks.

What happens next

If it makes sense for both of us, the next step is the on-site consultation — a paid engagement at $500, credited in full against your project when you build with us. We will explain exactly what it includes before you decide anything.

Being Straight With You

How The Call Actually Runs

Somewhere between fifteen and forty minutes, depending entirely on the project and how much there is to talk about. A single bathroom can be quick. A whole-home renovation with three people making decisions is not, and we would rather take the time than move you along.

Nothing is signed on the call and nothing is owed for it. There is no presentation, no folder, and no number that expires at the end of the week. If it begins to feel like a pitch, that is a failure on our end.

You are also welcome to use the call simply to get your bearings. Plenty of people are still deciding whether to remodel at all, and an honest conversation about cost and sequence is useful even when the answer turns out to be not yet.

Questions

Before You Pick Up The Phone

Anywhere from fifteen to forty minutes. It depends on the size of the project and how much there is to work through. We would rather run long than cut you off, so if you have half an hour free you will not feel rushed.

No. A lot of people call knowing only that something is not working and that they would like it fixed. Working out what the project actually is happens to be the useful part of the conversation.

A ballpark, not a price. We will tell you what comparable projects have cost and roughly where yours is likely to land. A real number requires seeing the house, measuring it, and writing the scope — which is what the on-site consultation is for.

Call anyway. Understanding cost and sequence a year out is far more useful than finding out three weeks before you hoped to start. There is nothing to book and nothing to commit to.

No. Plenty of calls end with both sides deciding the timing is wrong or the fit is not there, and that is a perfectly good outcome. We only suggest an on-site consultation when it makes sense for both of us.

Someone who would actually be running your project — not a call center and not a salesperson working on commission. Whoever picks up will be involved in the work if it goes ahead.

Pick A Time That Works

No pitch, nothing signed. Grab whichever slot suits you and we will call you then — no waiting on a callback that never comes.
