Basement Room Addition — Logan, Utah
An unfinished basement turned into a finished bedroom and walk-in closet, in about four weeks.
The owners of this house do not live in Utah. Their kids do — they are at college here in Logan — and with another family member starting school, the house needed one more bedroom.
The space was already there. The basement was unfinished: concrete floor, bare walls, open joists overhead, the furnace and ductwork sitting out in the open. What it did not have was a room.
We framed it out, ran the electrical, insulated, hung and taped the drywall, textured and painted, did the carpentry and trim, set the lighting, tied the new space into the HVAC so it heats and cools like the rest of the house, and laid new carpet. What came out the other side is a bedroom with a walk-in closet, finished to the same standard as the floor above it.
About four weeks on site, framing through carpet.
